Where to See Stunning Spring Bloom in LA

In case you haven’t noticed in your social media feeds, Spring has officially “sprung” in LA. There’s still a bit of chill in the air and a few lingering raindrops on the ground, but spring is starting to burst out all around us. All the rain we complained about in January and February has brought us the most amazing spring bloom. It’s time to bust out those sandals, those picnic spreads, and those floral dresses and get ready to smell the flowers.

My inbox has been flooded with questions since I posted on my Instagram pictures taken with wild flowers and almond blossom. So I decided to spill all of my “secret” spring bloom spots in and around LA. In this blog I’m sharing with you my top favorite spots to catch the first glimpse of spring blooms!

Galentine’s Day Tea Party: Morning Lavender Cafe

The sweetest time of year isn’t just for couples! Galentine’s Day is an unofficial holiday that takes place the day before Valentine’s Day and is gaining more and more momentum over the years. It is a special day for ladies celebrating ladies and friends celebrating friends! Valentine doesn’t have to be all about romance. All love should be celebrated… and because you can never have too many excuses to get all your girlfriends together in one place!

And what better way to celebrate Galentine’s Day than with a tea party! This year I had an honor to attend Morning Lavender‘s Galentine Afternoon Tea with other bloggers. We gotta enjoy all of the adorable, sweet and whimsical parts of Valentine’s Day with all the #bossladies. Just us gals gathering together to uplift, support and, most importantly, laugh. Whimsical Pastel Wonderland Themed Valentine Party

Here we are at that time of year again—romance is in the air! You’ve seen stores filled with cards, hearts, chocolate candies, and cuddly little stuffed animals with messages like “Hug Me”, “Be Mine,” or “Let’s Kiss”. It’s the most romantic time of the year and is a big deal for most women. You know me, I’m all about the holidays and especially anything to do with decorating for the holidays!  BUT… As I do a quick online search for Valentine’s Day party ideas, and there are just so many party tables smothered in red and pink. Not that I don’t love red and pink at this time of the year, but I’m on the hunt for something a little less vibrant….but more pastel, fairytale, and whimsical.

So this year I have teamed up with some of my favorite LA vendors to bring you lots of  inspiration to create a beautiful and magical Valentine’s Day decor. Whether you’re celebrating with the girls for the ultimate Galentine’s Day soiree or treating your Valentine to an afternoon tea for two, these romantic Valentine’s Day decorations are sure to make everyone’s hearts swoon.

Fresh Flowers from The Bouqs

I’m such a sucker for fresh flowers! I enjoy walking into a room and seeing a vase of fresh flowers. There is something about a bouquet of fresh cut flowers that can just brighten up my day instantly. I’ve also loved the idea of sending flowers to those close to me for special occasions like a birthday, a baby shower, or any other sort of congratulations. A gorgeous display of hand-picked blooms is one of the easiest ways to make your loved ones smile. Unfortunately, ordering flowers from online companies can be a frustrating process. The flowers might come to the door not as fresh as we’d like them to and they almost never look exactly like the ones displayed on their website. But The Bouqs is different. In this blog I will explain why The Bouqs is my new favorite floral delivery service!

Traditions of Tet, the Vietnamese New Year

In Vietnam, the Lunar New Year is known as Tet. Tet is Christmas, Easter, New Year and Thanks Giving; all rolled into one package. Tet is celebrated from the 1st of January to the 3rd, according to the lunar calendar. It is a time for family reunions, and for paying respect to ancestors and the elders. In this post, I’m sharing with you some of Vietnamese Tet traditions.

Post-Rose Parade Float Viewing

It doesn’t seem to be New Year’s Day without having the Rose Parade playing on the TV. Founded in 1890, the Tournament of Roses, which features flower-covered floats, spirited marching bands and high-stepping equestrian units, is America’s New Year Celebration, a greeting to the world on the first day of the year and a salute to the community spirit. Thousands of families and football fans board flights every year to California to take part in what has become a time-honored tradition.

You’ve seen them on television, and now you’re dying to see all the details of those gorgeous Rose Parade floats up close. Here’s the first thing you need to know: Don’t go to the parade. That’s because there’s a much better way to get a good look at them and take their photos: Post Parade.

10 Reasons To Stay In A Cabin This Winter

As winter sinks in, I normally plan for a vacation somewhere warm and tropical…but this year, I’ve got cabins on my mind. I was dreaming of a cozy winter cabin that can only be reached by dirt roads. Often surrounded with wilderness and seclusion, cabins are wonderful places to take a much needed break from everyday life and serve as fantastic winter getaways. Many visitors to SoCal might be surprised to know that just a short day-trip from Los Angeles sits a winter wonderland in the San Bernardino mountains – Big Bear Lake.

Lovin’ Life Lodge A-Frame of Mind

When planning our trip to Big Bear, we looked at all sorts of cabins. Our main criteria was finding a home base in the central area of Big Bear with the rustic charm of an authentic A-frame cabin. During our search, we came across a charming cabin called Lovin’ Life Lodge A-Frame of Mind. This cabin was placed high on a hill with great views and it was a centrally located home base that allowed us to experience Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead area. What a perfect way to celebrate my Christmas holiday with my loved ones! If you are still looking for the perfect winter holiday gift (or maybe next Christmas) for your loved ones, there is nothing better than surprising your family with a getaway to a cabin in Big Bear.  In this blog I will share with you 10 reasons why you should stay in a cabin in Big Bear during the holiday season.
